Exploring different countries, you start to understand why people there might do certain things or act in certain ways providing a constant urge to continue learning. Travel broadens the mind and widens our horizons by expanding our world, relationships and a way to live life to the fullest. Making friends with people during travel adventures will definitely give you a broader view of life. Are you still asking the question “why travel”?

It builds your character

Travelling pushes us out of our comfort zone and helps to build confidence. The experience you gain from worldly experiences is a completely different type of education. It helps you find and develop skills that education won’t provide. It’s an opportunity to develop empathy, a cultural aptitude, and a deeper awareness of the meaning of real problems, enabling us into big thinking and putting things into perspective. This inadvertently changes our way of understanding, lifestyle and developing a person’s character and personality. You’ll be more open to opportunities and you’ll prove to yourself that you can get through anything.

Opportunity to make new connections from all over the world

Travelling is a great way to connect with new people and get to have a different perspective on your life. You’ll learn new lessons and get to see things from different dimensions and people during your travels. Friends who are different from you can help you fill in those traits that you do not see yourself. These connections stay with you forever and are great opportunities to share your experiences with others. It will also convince you to take more trips in the future, confident that you’ll hopefully have accommodation sorted – and friends – to meet again. Don’t forget to return the favor!

Learn new languages

Learning a new language improves travel experiences, also has various benefits over time. The basis of the local language can help you get around places and makes travel easier, turning it into an experience of a lifetime. It saves you from the likelihood of getting lost in an unknown land, whether it’s reading signs or asking directions. You may learn a few phrases during your travel journeys – a few phrases such as “Sawasdee” in Thai, “Neih Hou” in Hong Kong and “Suksma” in Balinese. Knowing phrases and words enables you to confidently perform tasks such as ordering food in a restaurant, check into a hotel and negotiate a cheaper price in the market, exactly like locals. You don’t have to be a fluent speaker, just need enough that a new group of people can understand.

Explore new food and cuisines

You’ll have the opportunity to explore new cuisine as you explore the world, tasting the local delicacies is a crucial part of immersing yourself in the culture. A visit to the local market will give you the opportunity to absorb the sights and smells, but most importantly a chance to taste food delicacies in the new destination. It’s a unique way to connect with travellers and local hosts for an authentic culinary experience. Your chance to exchange with people from all around the globe and to discover new cultures around food, learn to cook certain dishes, and what ingredients they use. The different tastes and smells will remind you of your travel experiences and create happy memories that will last a lifetime.
